Barney Goccos

Going to be doing the Barnegat Lighthouse Art Fair on July 31st.  Sharing a spot with Pat Johnson from The Sandpaper.

We have been plein air painting each week for several weeks now, sometimes at Barnegat Light.  Pat has done several lighthouse paintings in preparation for the show -- as afterall, what would you expect to find at the Lighthouse art fair, but lighthouse art.

I am still trying to figure out what style I want to plein air paint and so really dont have many lighthouse paintings.  Decided that I would try some gocco prints of the Barnegat Lighthouse (Old Barney) on paint chip cards.   While I have alot of paint chip cards already from trying to decide on colors for the house, I thought I would pick up a few in the paint dept that had coastal/beach/nautical paint names.  When I get them matted, I will make sure the paint name is visible.

Oh yes, I couldnt help but call them Barney Goccos.  (with the goo goo googly eyes)

A Star.

My daughter thought I was being silly when I bought these sunglasses way way back--- when I was visiting and they had me paint the nursery Gatorade green.  But I see that they fit my granddaughter just fine now.

BTW a new painting will be posted.

Finished a still life

Worked on finishing up this still life that I had started at Al's class a year ago in the spring.
The lighting is different, but I think a bit more accurate.  I covered the top edges as well as lightened some of the grapes in the front.

I had been reluctant to work on it all this time because I thought it would just take too long. But finished it in a few hours. Dont tell Al, but I think I might have learned something in his class.
